Event Description
INIA worked together with the University of the Third Age Malta, in welcoming the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) to Malta.
As part of the two-day delegation visit, on the 19th of January, INIA hosted the AIUTA Executive Governing Board (EGB) at its premises in Valletta. Discussions on the AIUTA programmes and further collaborations were held among Prof Marvin Formosa, Director INIA and Rector’s Delegate, University of the Third Age Malta U3A, Prof François Vellas, AIUTA President (France), Maria Chester, AIUTA SG (United Kingdom), Nadezhda Hrapkova, AIUTA Vice Treasury (Slovakia), Patrick Demouy, AIUTA Treasury (France), Carlos Santos AIUTA Deputy SG (Portugal) with Montse Amoros, AIUTA GB member (Spain), Albert Evrard Sj, ICT (Belgium), Cristina Abreu (Portugal), Antonio Abreu (Sao Tome, and Portugal) and Patricia Terral (France).
During the EGB, presentations were held on AIUTA Programs such as ‘Protection of the rights of older persons’ , ‘Archeological silk road and U3As’ and ‘INSULA program to small islands U3As’ . An online discussion was also held with ADK Turkey and Gustavo Rodriguez Colombia in preparation for the next AIUTA Pamukkale conference and governing board.
